Swindon Supermarine Reserve striker Evan Black who is sponsored by PSB Design Ltd, entered the clubs record-books at the Meadow on Saturday August 19 [2026], having struck the Spitfires first ever hat-trick at Step 6.
Despite trailing 1-0 to Brimscombe & Thrupp at the intermission, the visitors came out of the block with all cylinders firing in the second forty-five, hitting seven goals – with Evan bagging all his three within a twelve-minute period!
Tireless in his final third runs, Evan grabbed his first with 70-minutes on the clock after a beautiful through-ball down the centre of the pitch which found the Lilywhites defence left chasing.
From the halfway line, Evan ran unopposed all the way in to the home sides penalty area, before slotting the ball calmly under Ollie Gargett from 17-yards out.
Just two-minutes later, a high ball over the top of the Brimscombe defensive line saw Evan run clear again and after picking the ball up midway in to the home sides territory, he took a mere two touches before he found himself seven yards from the net, before he struck the ball passed a helpless keeper.
With 82-minutes gone, his hattrick was complete following another attack down the right flank which was squared to Samuel Jun. Jun saw his 18-yard effort parried by Gargett, but Evan found himself unmarked at the far post and calmly slotted it beyond Gargett as he scrambled to get back to his feet.
As well as picking up the official Supermarine Play of the Match award for the second game in a row, Evan also joins the list of Hellenic League Hat-Trick Heros for the 2026-27 campaign!
