Football fans across the region were treated to a feast of goals, drama, and cup magic this afternoon as the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round took centre stage alongside a full fixture list in the Hellenic Division One.

Emirates FA Cup – Extra Preliminary Round Highlights

Roman Glass St George set the tone with a Friday night demolition job, hammering Nailsea & Tickenham 7–0 in the round’s biggest scoreline.

Elsewhere, Fairford Town stunned Longlevens AFC with an emphatic 5–1 away victory, while Tuffley Rovers edged out Hartpury University 2–1 in a competitive Gloucestershire derby.

There was late heartbreak for Cinderford Town, who were narrowly beaten 1–0 by Amersham Town, and Slimbridge secured a gritty 1–0 win at Corsham Town.

Cribbs continued their impressive form with a confident 2–0 victory over Easington Sports, and Hallen edged past Highworth Town 1–0.

Lye Town impressed on the road, dispatching Hereford Pegasus 2–0, while Pershore Town got the better of Darlaston Town with a 2–1 win.

Racing Club Warwick and Worcester Raiders both advanced thanks to 2–1 and 1–0 victories over Droitwich Spa and Ashby Ivanhoe respectively.

Mangotsfield United and Bristol Manor Farm will need a replay after a 1–1 draw, as will Thornbury Town and Virginia Water, who shared four goals in an entertaining 2–2 stalemate.

Perhaps the game of the round came at Lydney Town, who played out a thrilling 3–3 draw with Royal Wootton Bassett Town, while Cirencester Town and Reading City couldn’t be separated in a goalless affair.

Finally, Atherstone Town took the spoils in a 4–2 goal-fest away at Westfields.

Hellenic Division One – Local Round-Up

It was a goal-laden day in Division One too, with Woodford United edging Bewdley Town 4–3 in a rollercoaster clash.

Cheltenham Saracens impressed with a 4–2 win over Shortwood United, while Brimscombe & Thrupp picked up a strong 3–1 home victory against Wantage Town.

F C Stratford earned a solid 2–0 away win at Clanfield 85, and Malmesbury Victoria were narrow 2–1 winners at Newent Town.

Alcester Town returned from Stonehouse Town with a 2–0 win, while Carterton secured a tight 1–0 victory against Chipping Sodbury Town.

In the final fixture, Thame United Reserves beat Wellington 3–1 to round off a successful afternoon for the home side.
