Buildbase FA Vase First Round Qualifying

Friday 30 August

With six uhlsport Hellenic League clubs competing against each other on the opening night of the 2019/2020 competition the Hellenic could guarantee a minimum of three clubs in the next round.

The  Binfield v Virginia Water contest at Stubbs Lane was described bt the home club as a "Dour game which needed extra time to decide it. The home side scored the only, and deciding, goal two minutes into extra time. Scorers Home: Josh Helmore 92

"Silly errors cost College side" said New College coach Matt Cosnett following their 0-7 home loss to Royal Wootton Bassett Town. Gio Wrona and Callum Parsons both registered hat tricks for Bassett. Scorers Away:Gio Wrona 21, 30, 90 Callum Parsons 37,43,56 Alfie Presley 52 

Division One Milton United totally dominated the first half, playing away against Premier Division Shrivenham, battling to take an early lead, followed by a second. 0-2 infront at half time it looked like Milton were on top until 'Shrivvy" scored to put them back in the game. Then added two late goals, one in the penulimate minute of normal time and the other five minutes into added time, to seal a home win under pressure.  Scorers Home: Antonio Gerrish 65 Dave Bampton 89 Jordan Morris 90+5 Away: Kieran Strange 15 Paul Adler 32 

Saturday 31 August

A goal from Henry Horton sealed the victory for Division One Abingdon United against Combined Counties League Division One Eversley & California at the Northcourt Scorers Home: Henry Horton 82

Division One Thame Rangers travelled to Spratleys Meadow to compete against Spartan South Midlands League Division One  Amersham Town. They lost 2-1. Scorers Home: Paul Gray 45, 67 Away: Zarius Edwards-Giraud 70

Toby London gave Ardley United the lead in just 4 minutes against Northampton ON Chenecks of the United Counties League at The Nolan Oils Ground. But the visitors were level from an own goal on 7 minutes then hit another two without any further bother from Ardley. Flackwell Heath v Spartan South Midlands Football  Arlesey Town at Wilks Park was 0-0 at half time. The Heathens scored 3 goals to Arlesey's one in the second period. Scorers Home:  Khalid Zakaria Simmo 63 Simeón Weekes 74 Josh Baines 78  Away:James Hatch 56 

Surrey based Combined Counties League Premier Division Frimley Green welcomed Gloucestershire team Lydney Town. Lydney lost 3-1. Scorers Home: Nathan Thomas 12 Nick Thumwood 32 Sam Hamer 55  Away: Ross Gabriel 72 

At Watchet Lane Holmer Green were up against FA Vase semi-finalists in 1994–95 Raunds Town, currently members of the United Counties League. Netting the only goal of the game Raunds are still on track to reach this seasons Vase Final. Scorer Away: Joe Linley 86 

Clanfield 85 took on Sandhurst Town of the Combined Counties league at Radcot Road. And would appear to have forged a mercurial comeback. 0-3 down after 27 minutes of play they came back to win 7-3! Midland League Premier Division Heather St John's FC took on Hereford Pegasus at their St John's Park ground in Coalville. Pegasus lost 3-0 Scorers Home: Umar Zaman 6  Kieron Clarke 15 Fraiser Doyle 52 

Wellington welcomed another Midland League club, Worcester City, to Wellington Playing Fields. A close first half, but the fitness and quality of the visitors was the difference in the second half as Wellington got overpowered, losing 0-5.

Premier Division Fairford Town overcame Divsion One Abingdon Town 5-1 at Cinder Lane Scorers Home: xxxx Away: xxxx No information provided by the home club!

One East Risborough Rangers crushed their Premier Division opponents Easington Sports 6-0 with Kyle Faulkner being the star with a superb hat-trick at the Windsors. Scorers Home: Kyle Faulkner 15,53,66 Brian Haule 31, 56 Josh Urquart 18 

One West Shortwood United trounced Premier Division Tuffley Rovers 5-0 at Wood's Meadowbank Stadium. Home club secretary Jim Cuneen commented after the match "Shortwood were sublime and scored 5 quality goals. The Malmesbury Victoria v Woodley United was switched from the Flying Monk Ground to Woodley's Rivermoor home base. Some say "a change is as good as a rest" and it certainly was for the Vic's who stormed through to the next round with a 3-0 victory. Scorers Home: Andy Baker 17,76 Shane Bumphrey 45 

Thornbury Town v Cheltenham Saracens at Mundy Playing Fields was a tight battle for the first 25 minutes but Thornbury gained confidence after scoring first and pulled away winning 6-2. Scorers Home: Harry Brock 27 Jim Brock 35 Craig Lancastle 40, 73 Rhys Hodgson 67 Jacob Farthing 87 Away:Kai Mahon 43 Harlie Price 81
