Last seasons uhlsport Hellenic League champions Bet Victor Southern League new boys Wantage Town have yet to play a game in their new league. So the game against Brackley Town Saints could be thought of as a continuation of Hellenic competition, in the two league fixtures last season against Saints, Wantage took four points from a possible six. This time it was honours even at Alfredian Park, a 1-1 draw. Saints took the lead in the first minute of the second half with Wantage scoring in the 89th minute of play. The uhslport Hellenic League was guaranteed at least eight clubs going through to the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round on August 24, with 16 clubs from the League drawn against each other.
Abingdon United took the lead in the third minute after the half time break only to exit the cup losing 1-2 to Brimscombe & Thrupp. After an even first half with Brimscombe's experience over a young Abingdon being the difference in the result. Friday 9 August was an historic night for Wokingham & Emmbrook playing their first ever game at the Emmbrook Sports & Social club ground under floodlights. 183 specators witnessed the first win under the lights for the Suma's at their home gound.
