The Hellenic Football League is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jason Scrivens following his courageous battle with cancer.
Jason was a highly respected and much-loved figure within the Gloucestershire football community and, through his many years of dedicated service to Shortwood United, a valued member of the wider Hellenic League family. Throughout his involvement with the club, Jason fulfilled numerous roles including player, manager, Director of Football and committee member, always demonstrating an unwavering commitment to Shortwood United and to grassroots football.
His passion, dedication and infectious personality left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. The respect and affection shown in the many tributes paid to Jason are a testament to the impact he made both on and off the pitch.
On behalf of the Hellenic Football League, its member clubs, officers and supporters, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jason’s wife Kate, his family, friends and all at Shortwood United during this incredibly difficult time.
Jason’s contribution to Shortwood United and to football across our region will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
