The FA Request for Cashless Payments to Match Officials in Season 2020/21. To save each individual club looking into how to handle this recent FA request, please be aware that The League is trialling the YesRef system.
Already a couple of clubs have signed-up to these trials. If you want to take part please contact Brian King specifically using the firstname.lastname@example.org address.
The good news is that the evidence is that YesRef will do exactly as required.
Like all systems that use financial institutions inevitably there is a charge. For matches involving our National League Clubs (Premier & both Division One’s) that have three officials, the increase is expected to approximately £9.25 per match. For Division Two matches this is to be just over £5 per match.
I have written to The FA to ask about the availability of any funds that would help with this additional cost.
Detailed below is an email from one of the MO’s who officiated at Milton United on Tuesday night.
As I trialed YesRef last night with the payments for their pre season fixture, I’m unsure if you need any feedback on this system or not from myself.
It was really easy to set up and done within minutes + the payment was prompt and came through during the match as by the time I checked my phone after the game finished, I had a notification of the payment received.
Looks like it could be a good use for clubs to send fees directly to us instead of with cash.
