Former Slimbridge striker Adam Bloomfield is looking to take his form for Tuffley Rovers U18s into the First Team as Rovers head to Windsor in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division contest this tomorrow. Writes the Gloucestershire football blog Severn Sport.
Bloomfield scored a hat trick during the Young Rovers’ 4-3 win over Longlevens on Tuesday night and put in a man of the match performance in the win. After the game the forward described his performance as the “Old Adam.”
“I was very pleased with the performance on Tuesday night,” said Bloomfield. “There were many positives to take from it and I feel that the old Adam is back now and I will hopefully continue it onto the next game.
Scoring a goal is always a good feeling but to score three is unreal! Naturally as a striker it gives me confidence to continue my form into the next game and hopefully get more in the bag,” Bloomfield added.
Bloomfield took his goals with the composure and quality that we all saw during a prolific 2018/19 season for Slimbridge Development, where the former Forest Green Academy man swept all before him in a great first season for the club. However after a loan spell at Tuffley Rovers, Bloomfield joined the Hellenic League side on a permanent basis at the start of the season and Bloomfield believes the transfer has helped his development.
“Playing for Tuffley is amazing! Everyone has been very good to me in the first team and the under 18s and Tuffley have a great set up."
"I do think it’s finally helped me get back to my old self. I’m really enjoying my football at the moment and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!” Bloomfield added.
At the weekend Bloomfield will be with the First Team squad as they head to Windsor and the striker knows that after a hat trick there will be a lot expected of him, but he admits that he still has to fight for his place.
“It’s very important to take the momentum of a hat trick into the game Saturday! It will give me plenty of confidence to do even better in men’s football and fight for my place as I am playing myself into good form. As a squad we are in a great place right now so hopefully we can build on that at Windsor,” Bloomfield added.
