During the extended enforced break, Malvern Town have been working hard behind-the-scenes to develop their playing and coaching structure in order to strengthen the pathway that exists there and also provide solid foundations for future growth.
One of the key changes has seen the reserves become the Senior Development team and move across into the Hellenic League Division Two North where they expect to face some stern competition.
The team will once more come under the guidance of Peter Daffin, who will be ably assisted by Rich Bray, and the duo will be looking to continue the positive strides that were made last term as we battled it out for the Herefordshire County League Premier Division title before the campaign was brought to a premature end.
“We’re really looking forward to this new challenge,” admitted Peter Daffin. “A good proportion of last season’s squad have already signed up and we’ll be adding a number of new faces to the group as well. It’s going to be a good test for us in a competitive League and the lads can’t wait to get started. Training has gone well so far; we’ve seen good numbers turning up and there’s plenty of enthusiasm and determination from the players, which is nice to see.
“We’re well aware of the role that we will play in the overall pathway that exists here and it’s an exciting time for everyone involved with the club.”
