The MalvernTown Development team made a winning start to life in the uhlsport Hellenic League Division Two West at the weekend with a good 3-0 victory over Evesham United Development.
Amongst the goalscorers was young Morgan Skidmore, who is looking to continue progressing this season having had a taste of first-team action last term.
“It was a really good start to the League season for us, the kind of start that every team wants,” he said. “We played well all over the pitch with everyone doing their job and making a contribution. We’ve set the bar now and we need to do this at every game."
“For me, playing alongside players like Liam Paddock, Bryan Craven and Chris Parker can only help me development, it’s a privilege to line up with them as they each bring different qualities to the team. As the season goes on, I am sure that I will get stronger and better by learning from these players and the others around me."
“I feel fitter than I’ve ever been and I think that this has shown through during pre-season. I’ve had good performances and some not so good, but that’s football and I will be looking to get a level of consistency because my drive to reach the first-team is stronger than ever. I understand that I need game time and to prove myself at this level, but I’m still young and gaining experience all the time which will stand me in good stead.
“I feel as though I have the determination to do this and I know that I will achieve my targets. I’ll continue giving 100% and aim to bring something to every match that I am involved in and see where it takes me.”
