Dene Whittal-Williams, was full of praise for the way that Malvern Town came back to beat Cheltenham Saracens despite playing for half-an-hour with ten men.
Harry Clark notched our first goal with Jay Sauntson equalising for a second time before Adam Sauntson popped up with a late winner. “The lads showed a lot of character out there,” he said. “The conditions were awful for the most part and it’s fair to say that it was an ugly performance for the most part, but it proved effective in the end.We challenged the lads to dig deep and they did that against previously unbeaten opponents who had quality and physicality about them."
“To play with ten men for half-an-hour and even go down to nine men for a time, made it even more if an achievement as not many teams will get anything here. We’re proud of the lads and now some of them will be given an opportunity to get minutes under their belt on Tuesday evening when we host Tytherington Rocks in the Banbury Litho Floodlit Challenge Cup."
“We want to progress in every competition we enter and it will be good to get some fresh legs out there in preparation for our Buildbase FA Vase tie on Saturday.”
Tuesday’s game is pay on the turnstiles only – come and show your support.
