Dene Whittal-Williams, has heaped more praise on the Malvern players following another accomplished performance as we ran out 8-0 winners against Tytherington Rocks.
Dene pictured right said. “Overall we battled really well, our opponents started with a lot of energy but in the end our quality and shape shone through. We created plenty of chances and took eight of them, so it was another convincing victory for us. We’ve been able to be consistent with our selection and the way that we want to play. The lads have been learning and becoming more confident with our mentality with each game and it’s good to see the momentum building."
"That said, we can’t afford to be complacent; we have some big games coming up and we’re so focussed on what we have to do. There is great ability within the group. We are looking a real threat going forward and defensively we have been making decent decisions. There’s a long way to go but we’re gathering momentum and we’ll go with it.”
Whilst the team has quite rightly received plenty of plaudits for our goalscoring exploits, the defensive unit has looked solid in recent games, with goalkeeper, Jordan Dibble (pictured left), in assured form in our last two outings. The youngster joined the club on a dual registration from Cinderford Town having previously earned a glowing reputation for his exploits with Cwmbran Celtic in the Welsh League Division One.
“I’m really enjoying my time at the club,” said the level-headed custodian. “The players and coaching staff have been very welcoming and the club is certainly moving in the right direction both on and off-the-pitch. It was nice to keep a clean sheet in Saturday’s game. We performed really well as a team and looked ruthless in front of goal, especially in the second half. I was involved in the action more than you would expect from an 8-0 victory but I think I did well and dealt with everything that came my way. We got our goals at good times and it was an impressive team display with everyone playing their part."
“It’s great to see so many fans supporting us and congratulating us at the end. Hopefully the wins will keep coming to keep everyone happy. I’m really enjoying the atmosphere around the club and the close bond that there is between the players, staff and fans. It’s great to be part of it."
“As I say, this club is geared towards climbing the Leagues. The facilities are fantastic and they provide us with a platform to play attractive football. There’s a really positive vibe running through the whole squad; we’re all together and it’s a great group of lads. Obviously winning football matches helps, but for me personally it is really beneficial to my development to be in an environment such as this.”
We’re back at home on Saturday with the visit of Bourton Rovers (kick-off 3.00pm). Let’s have another great crowd to cheer the lads on as we look to add to our winning run and goalscoring exploits.
