Dene Whittal-Williams, gives his verdict on Malvern Town's 3-1 victory at Shortwood United their first League game on the road this season. “Six points from these opening two tricky fixtures is fantastic" says the joint manager.
“We started brilliantly and killed the game off in the opening 25 minutes,” he said. “We had to work hard to get in behind them but we kept the ball well in the most part and there were some really pleasing things going on out there. I was happy with our intensity and whilst it was disappointing to see us concede a goal right at the end, we’ll take the three points. We are setting some high standards and there were assured performances throughout the team. We’ve got plenty of strength in depth this season and it was nice to see Joe Bullock able to get 65 minutes under his belt as he returns from injury. We have said to the players that they either become complacent or they become confident and it’s the latter at the moment."“Six points from these opening two tricky fixtures is fantastic; we knew that it was a tough start to the season and that we had to be able to hit the ground running, so it’s a case of so far, so good. We won’t be resting on our laurels, though, and we will work hard to ensure that we are ready to go again on Saturday for the visit of Stonehouse Town.”
Please note that Saturday’s game will be pay on the turnstiles only. It will be possible to pay with cash or contactless card and admission prices will be £6 (adults), £4 (concessions) and FREE for under-12s accompanied by an adult.
There will be no advance online sales, although those of you who have already purchased this way, fear not as your ticket will still be valid.
We still have a 300 capacity and once this number is reached, we are unable to allow any further admissions.
As always we will have a team of volunteer stewards on duty to ensure that we have a safe and secure environment, so please respect the rules and we can have another great afternoon of football action.
