Malvern Town made it two League wins from two games courtesy of a 5-3 triumph at Thornbury Town last night.
“There was plenty for us to learn from this game,” admitted co-manager, Dene Whittal-Williams. “To conceding two penalties and losing two players to the sin bin in the latter stages of the game was disappointing, but we managed to withstand the pressure that was created by our hosts."
“Thornbury proved to be tough opponents; they worked extremely hard and made it difficult for us to get into the game."
“We went 1-0 up against the run of play if we’re honest, having received a couple of warnings, but then to go in at the break at 2-2 was frustrating having led twice, however it was probably fair on reflection."
“We matched our hosts physically and in the second half especially, having discussed our defensive shape at half-time, we were able to get into better attacking situations on the transition."
“We created more and more as the game went on and scored three very good goals through Harry Clark, Milky [Matt Turner] and Kyonn Evans, who grabbed his second of the night."
“It’s great that we have picked up another three points. As I say, we are learning all of the time and we will take this into training this week so that we are ready for Saturday’s Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup game at Longlevens."
“Thank you to all of those supporters who made the trip, your support is much appreciated, especially when we are playing over an hour away on a Tuesday evening.”
