Lee Hooper, has given his verdict on Malvern Town's 6-0 win at Bourton Rovers, a game which saw him make a 15-minute appearance off the substitutes’ bench and get his name on the scoresheet.
“We got there in the end,” he said. “To be fair to them, they got men behind the ball, defended well and their ‘keeper made some good saves. It was a case of being patient and continuing to do the right things."
"The breakthrough finally came just before half-time and then we were able to make our dominance count after the break to chalk up a convincing win."
“Now the focus turns to next weekend and our big game at GNP Sports in the first round of the Buildbase FA Vase. We’ll work hard in preparation this week; our opponents are in good form going into the game, but so are we and we’ll go there with confidence looking to progress in the competition.”
"I managed to get a bit of time on the pitch, which was nice. It was a clinical finish off my knee from close range, but they all count!"
