Dene Whittal-Williams, gives his verdict on Malvern Towns' 3-3 draw at Hereford Lads Club on Tuesday night.
“We started really slowly and if anything conceding so early kicked us into gear,” he said. “We managed to get into our stride and go 2-1 up with some gritty performances and decent play. We deserved our lead but then switched off towards the end of the first half to concede two quick goals, which was disappointing."
“It was a funny performance; there were times when we played some decent stuff but we also allowed our hosts to make life difficult for us. We knew that they would dig deep and raise their game and we dealt with most of the problems that they posed to us."
“We’ll take the draw; it was always going to be tricky coming here, particularly on the back of Saturday’s tough game, and now we’ll look to build again for Saturday’s game."
“The lads have that winning mentality and they were disappointed at the end that we didn’t take the three points, but we’ll dust ourselves down and be ready to go again at the weekend as we host Cirencester Town Development, who proved to be a tricky outfit at their place earlier in the season.”
