James Febery certainly made his presence felt when he entered the action just after the hour-mark on Saturday to replace the injured Harry Wickett.
Booked before even touching the ball, he proceeded to help us come back from 2-1 down at the hands of Cheltenham Saracens to win 4-2, scoring our third goal with just six minutes left on the clock.
“To come on and get the goal that put us back in front was great,” he said. “Overall I think we were the better side; we created plenty of chances and had we taken them, we could have put the game to bed earlier.
“We’re in a good place at the moment and even when we were behind, we knew that if we remained patient and kept doing the right things, our reward would come.
“Confidence is high and there a real togetherness amongst all of the lads. We just want to be able to keep building this momentum for the rest of the season.
“We’re looking forward to each game and can’t wait for Tuesday’s trip to Hereford Lads Club. It’s going to be another test for us, but we’re ready for it.”
Saturday’s game was watched by an impressive crowd of 252 with the support from the sidelines influential in our strong finish as we secured an important three points.
“To be playing in front of such crowds in recent weeks has been a massive help to us,” added Febery. “As players, we can’t thank the fans enough and we want to keep giving them three points to repay the backing that they are giving to us.
“The atmosphere is fantastic and it’s going to be key in our quest to win the League. All we ask is that you keep turning up and spread the word to get your family and friends along too.”
