Risborough Going On - 25 June

mark eaton risborough rangers hellenic leagueNews and views of Mark Eaton, manager of uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East Risborough Rangers.

"Firstly, I hope this finds you all safe and well as hopefully we come out of this Covid-19 nightmare we can look forward to enjoying some football again."

"There is no point looking back at what should have and could have been we have to put a line under last season and move on, coming back even stronger when the new season starts. My final thoughts on the subject is we have a brilliant football infrastructure in England from our Non-League System, National Leagues, Football League feeding right up to the Premier League."

"How do the FA think it is acceptable to have different leagues decided by different rules, some continuing, some points per game with promotion and relegation and of course the FA buzz word Expunged which affected everyone from step 3 to 7. The English Dictionary definition of Expunged means (obliterate or remove completely something unwanted or unpleasant)?. We are of course in unprecedented times but in my opinion, this has made the decision-making process look somewhat shambolic. "

"On to the preparation for the coming season which we positively hope will be starting in September. We have made some changes to the structure of our management team which we believe will give us greater strength in depth and close the gap between our Development Team and the First Team as well as creating a real pathway for our younger players."

"Allied Counties Youth Team- We are entering a team in the Allied Counties Youth League and therefore have appointed John Pusey as our Under 18 Manager John has managed junior teams within the RRFC infrastructure throughout all the age ranges and has an exceptional record in Youth Football, his enthusiasm and dedication in driving his youngsters to improve meant this was an obvious choice and I would like to welcome John to the RRFC football management team."

"Development team- This one of the most difficult roles to fill and we felt the gap between the first team and development team had grown too big, personally I was keen to have players from the development team pushing hard for a place in the first team and equally players from the first team being happy to get minutes with the development team either because of rehab or simply needing more game time. Our first team players can be invaluable in helping the younger players develop."

"With Nick Young stepping down after covering the role towards the end of the season and playing no games we wanted to make sure we made the right appointment."

"I am delighted to say that former Rangers player Mark Endean has accepted our offer, Mark is someone I have known for many years. He is an excellent coach and has an exceptional track record in developing young players, after many years at Wendover Junior Football Club he recently worked with the FAB Academy. Mark joined Risborough in 1991 at the tender age of 17 from Slough Town where he played Allied Counties football. He spent the next eight years with Rangers playing Spartan South Midlands football and scoring over 200 goals before switching to Holmer Green in 1999. Mark has also had a short spell at Aylesbury FC (Vale Dynamos) and as mentioned earlier began coaching at Wendover Juniors before taking the reins of the Aylesbury FAB Academy where he enjoyed much more success in the National JPS League, winning several trophies. I am excited with the infrastructure we now have, and I am confident with John and Mark in place we can really push the club forward."

"First Team- I am pleased to say the management team of Jon Franklin and Paul Bonham and myself will be continuing for next season despite rumours to the contrary, we are also hoping to appoint a new physio to join the team. Within the playing staff Adam Morris will provide some additional coaching expertise as well as being a vital member of our playing squad and Steve Tavender will also continue in his role which as well as being a player can only be described as doing everything from playing, coaching, organising social events, fine collecting, training venue facilitator and tracksuit orderer and I probably haven't named half of it. We could simply not function without him."

"We will be doing everything we can to replicate and if possible, improve the success of last season. Nearly all our current squad have committed to next season and we have also been able to add some real quality. Like everyone we are desperate to get a definitive date for the league to start."

"We will be starting our pre-season preparation on Saturday 11th July further details on times and venues will be published across all our media and invites will be sent out directly to all the players we would like to join us."

"Stay safe everyone and I sincerely hope we will have the opportunity to see both familiar and new faces at the B.E.P Stadium whenever the new season kicks off "
