One West Tytherington Rocks announce the appointment of Nigel Gaston as first team manager.

Nigel has been a UEFA B License coach since 2007. From September 2008 to August 2014 he was a Coach at Bristol Rovers Academy, working in the Youth Development Phase (ages 13-16).

Due to work commitments with his full-time job, he reluctantly left Bristol Rovers and took up a less time consuming role coaching a very young Yate Town Reserves in the County League for the 2014-15 season. By the end of the season the squad, whose average age was fractionally below 18 years of age, was playing the most attractive football in the league. With nine or ten of the squad having moved on to higher level clubs, Nigel is looking for a fresh challenge in changing the fortunes of the Rocks.

He was originally due come in to assist Gary Ford back in the Summer, but this was delayed when Gary resigned. Nigel is strong an advocate of possession football, playing from the playing the back and through the thirds.

Also joining the Rocks as First Team Assistant Manager is Lee Stevens. Lee, himself a Rocks player of yester year, is a FA Level 2 Coach, who also currently works as a Scout for Cardiff City in our region.

Ford Rocks Man - 15 July

Tytherington Rocks have appointed Garry Ford as manager of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West side.

Club secretary Graham Shipp comments. "Garry has worked In Youth development for a number of years with Yate Town and South Gloucestershire development, he is looking forward to giving the younger players the platform to fulfil their potential. John Timlin becaomes his assistant and has done a great job with bringing some more senior players to the Club, so with the blend of youth and experience we feel this should provide a platform to move the Club forward and we are all looking forward to the start of the season. The Club have met the ground grading ‘G’ for level 6 and will be participating in the FA Vase this coming season and the FA Cup the following season, it’s a great achievement for everyone involved at the Club. We are also looking to install a small covered stand for standing spectators to meet the criteria for ground grading ‘F’ for level 5 which will provide scope for promotion."
